Key Features and How to Use Them #
1. Login Screen #
The Login Screen is the entry point to ConMan, requiring a username and password.
Features: #
- Username Field: Enter your ConMan username.
- Password Field: Enter your password (hidden by default, with an option to reveal it).
- Login Button: Submits your credentials to log in.
How to Use: #
- Log In:
- Type your username in the Username field.
- Type your password in the Password field. Click the eye icon to show/hide the password if needed.
- Click the Login button.
- If successful, the screen switches to the Menu Screen, and your username appears in the status bar (e.g., “User: JohnDoe”).
- If unsuccessful, an “Invalid Username or Password” message appears. Clear the fields and try again.
- Troubleshooting Login:
- Ensure your credentials are correct. Contact your administrator if you’ve forgotten them.
2. Menu Screen #
The Menu Screen is your dashboard, featuring large, clickable tiles for navigating to different ConMan modules.
Features: #
- Module Tiles: Large buttons labeled Materials, Users, Contacts, Tags, Tasks, Projects, and Transactions.
- Toolbar: Includes “Home” (with an Exit option) and “Modules” (a dropdown listing all modules).
- Status Bar: Displays your username at the bottom.
How to Use: #
- Navigate to a Module Using Tiles:
- Click a tile (e.g., Materials) to open that module in a new window.
- Available tiles:
- Materials: Manage materials and pricing.
- Users: Manage user accounts.
- Contacts: Manage supplier and contact details.
- Tags: Organize items with tags.
- Tasks: Track tasks and assignments.
- Projects: Manage construction projects.
- Transactions: Handle purchase transactions.
- Navigate Using the Toolbar:
- Click Modules in the toolbar to see a dropdown list.
- Select a module (e.g., Tasks) to open it.
- Exit the Application:
- Click Home in the toolbar, then select Exit, or simply close the window.
- Check Your Login:
- Look at the status bar to confirm your username (e.g., “User: JaneSmith”).
3. Exporting Grid Data #
In modules with grid views (e.g., Materials), you can export data to an Excel file.
How to Use: #
- Export a Grid:
- Open a module (e.g., Materials) and locate a grid (table) of data.
- Use the module’s export feature (typically a button or menu option).
- A “Save Excel File” dialog appears:
- Choose a location and filename (e.g., “Materials_List.xlsx”).
- Click Save.
- A message confirms “Export completed successfully!” when done.
4. Customizing Grid Layouts #
In modules with grids, you can save and restore your preferred layout (e.g., column order, width).
How to Use: #
- Save a Grid Layout:
- Adjust the grid (e.g., resize columns) in a module.
- The layout is automatically saved when you close the module or application.
- Restore a Grid Layout:
- Reopen the module, and your last saved layout is applied automatically.
- Reset a Grid Layout:
- If available in the module, use a “Restore Layout” option to revert to the default setup.
