Accessing the Projects Module #
To begin using the Projects Module:
- Launch ConMan and log in through the Main Form’s Login Screen, entering your credentials (username and password).
- From the Main Form’s Menu Screen, locate the Projects tile and click it, or navigate via the toolbar (Modules > Projects).
- The Projects window opens maximized, displaying the title “Projects” and defaulting to the List View, which shows all available projects in a table.
Why It Matters: The maximized window ensures ample screen space for viewing project data, and the tile-based navigation aligns with ConMan’s user-friendly design, making it easy for users of all experience levels to access the module quickly.
Tips:
- If the Projects tile is missing, check with your administrator to ensure your user role has access to the module.
- Use the toolbar for faster navigation if you frequently switch between modules.
Interface Layout #
The Projects Module is organized into three primary interfaces:
- List View: A table-based overview of all projects, ideal for browsing and quick actions like adding or deleting projects.
- Edit View: A detailed interface for managing a single project, including fields for project details and sub-tables for components, materials, and tasks.
- Lookup Form: A separate window titled “Lookup Form” that allows you to select predefined components, materials, or tasks from libraries, streamlining item addition.
Navigation:
- Switch from List View to Edit View by double-clicking a project or using the Edit option.
- Return to List View from Edit View by clicking Back or pressing Esc, which automatically saves any changes.
- Open the Lookup Form from Edit View’s Add Item button to add components, materials, or tasks.
Why It Matters: The clear separation of views supports different workflows—List View for quick oversight and Edit View for in-depth management—while the Lookup Form reduces manual entry by leveraging predefined data.
Tips:
- Familiarize yourself with the Esc key to quickly exit Edit View, especially during busy workflows.
- The Lookup Form’s tabbed interface (Components, Materials, Tasks) mirrors the Edit View’s structure, making it intuitive to use.
